Amarillo kept battling Monday night, tying the game in the bottom of the ninth and 10th innings before Owen Miller‘s three-run home run in the bottom of the 11th gave the Sod Poodles (17-14, 51-48) a 9-8 win over Northwest Arkansas.
The homer was the only hit of the night for Miller (.798 OPS), although he also scored a run on a homer by Luis Torrens (.833 OPS) that put Amarillo’s first two runs on the board in the sixth.
A two-run single by Ivan Castillo (.897 OPS) tied the game in the bottom of the ninth and a sacrifice fly by Peter Van Gansen (.
