MacKenzie Gore picked up right where he left off.
Now ranked the No. 3 prospect in all of baseball by MLB.com, the 20-year-old left-hander returned from the California League All-Star break with nine strikeouts over six strong innings in high Single-A Lake Elsinore’s 7-4 win over visiting Inland Empire on Thursday.
Gore (6-1) allowed a run on three hits and two walks as his ERA rose slightly to 1.23.
Through 65 2/3 innings, a new career-high, Gore has fanned 92, walked 16 and held hitters to a .138 batting average.
