EL PASO, Texas —
Jose Castillo took a significant step forward in his rehab assignment on Wednesday night. Franchy Cordero’s next step is in question.
Cordero homered for the third time at Triple-A El Paso but exited in the sixth inning of a 10-9 win over visiting New Orleans with a left leg injury.
The 24-year-old center fielder was attempting to beat out a grounder to second base and wound up on the ground after running through the bag.
Cordero laid on the ground for several moments as a trainer and El Paso manager Edwin Rodriguez looked him over.
