The 23-year-old outfielder pushed his total to 28 with two home runs, leading to Triple-A El Paso to a 9-5 win over visiting San Antonio on Monday.
The effort helped Gettys (.801 OPS) leapfrog second baseman Ty France, who is second on the team and in the Padres’ system with 27 homers.
France (1.261 OPS) went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, a walk and a run scored. He is hitting .402 heading into the final weeks of the season.
