Nick Torres homered twice, Manuel Margot drove in four runs on three hits and Triple-A El Paso shaved its magic number to 4 with a 9-4 win over Albuquerque on Sunday in the Pacific Coast League.
Margot (.306) doubled and tripled and finished a home run shy of the cycle and Torres (.321), Diego Goris (.282), Nick Noonan (.312) and Jose Rondon (.306) each had two hits.
Torres’ home runs gives him six since a promotion from Double-A shortly after the trade deadline.
Right-hander Walker Lockett (1-1, 2.13) struck out five and allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk in 6 2/3 innings.
