Sacramento scored eight unanswered runs, sending Triple-A El Paso to an 8-4 loss on Monday in its season finale.
The Chihuahuas’ 80 wins were the second most in franchise history. Only three Triple-A teams had more wins this year than El Paso, which paced all of minor league baseball with 258 homers.
Catcher Michael Cantu’s third Pacific Coast League homer served as the final blast in El Paso’s powerful season.
All told, Michael Gettys led the Chihuahuas with a franchise-record 31 homers. Ty France hit 27, Austin Allen hit 21, Jason Vosler added 20 and Esteban Quiroz, Aderlin Rodriguez and Luis Urias all hit 19.
