Triple-A El Paso’s playoff push fizzled Sunday afternoon.
Left-hander Dietrich Enns couldn’t get out of the fourth and the powerful Chihuahuas couldn’t muster any extra-base hits in a 5-0 loss at Sacramento that officially eliminated El Paso from playoff contention.
El Paso (80-59) had won four straight division titles before a Sunday loss, combined with Las Vegas’ win, ended the Pacific Coast League’s Southern Division race.
Enns (11-11, 6.70) allowed five runs – four earned – on six hits and three walks in 3 2/3 innings.
El Paso’s offense managed only singles from Aderlin Rodriguez (.
