Making his second start at short-season Tri-City, first-rounder Cal Quantrill struck out eight batters and didn’t walk anyone over 4 2/3 innings in the Dust Devils’ 2-1 win over Spokane on Wednesday night in the Northwest League.
Quantrill has now turned in 7 1/3 scoreless innings through his first two starts for Tri-City (24-27). For the season, Quantrill – the eighth overall selection in June – has allowed eight earned runs, struck out 28 and walked four over 21 innings.
