The Padres have already called on their infield depth once this season and Mike Olt could vault to the top of that depth chart if he harnesses his power potential.
The 27-year-old minor league signee belted his first home run in the organization Thursday night, driving in three runs with the blast in Double-A San Antonio's 5-0 win over host Springfield. Olt is 2-for-10 since the Padre moved him down from Triple-A El Paso.
