San Diego Padres pitcher Michael King worked five scoreless innings and struck out 11 batters while leading the Padres to a 7-0 win over the Cleveland Guardians at Petco Park, Tuesday.
King started the game with a walk to Cleveland leadoff hitter Steven Kwan, but settled in quickly. He retired a string of eight batters in a row following the walk and that included six strikeouts. King ended the night allowing no runs on two hits with a walk and 11 strikeouts.
