Marlins 2, Padres 1: Friars fall in extras

Tonight’s Padres game was about as tight as they come. Dinelson Lamet and old friend Odrisamer Despaigne each went six innings while allowing just a single run. The Padres and Marlins bullpens put up similarly solid efforts to drive the game into extra innings, which is where the Fish eventually prevailed.

The Friars got on the board first thanks to a couple singles and a Miami error. Cory Spangenberg hit a one-out single, and Hector Sanchez backed him up with another to put him in scoring position.
