Margevicius takes Amarillo detour; Padres make three more pitching moves

Nick Margevicius was upset.

The rookie pitcher had another bad start, another night in the big leagues where the hitters jumped on pitches that weren’t going where he wanted them.

“It’s something I’m going to go back to work on,” he said late Saturday night, the emotion threatening to overcome him every few words. “You get up here and it’s not so easy and, you know, it’s just a constant process. I’m going to keep working through it. It’s a rough spot for me. I’m going to work my way through it.”

The 22-year-old will do that work while pitching for Double-A Amarillo.
