Manny Machado hit a home run in each of the first two games of the final series of a season that has been all but over for a couple months.
And shrugged.
“A little too late,” he said.
No one in the Padres organization is pleased with how Machado’s first season in San Diego bottomed out.
Certainly, that includes Machado.
“I didn’t put up the numbers I expected to put up,” he said. “There is no excuse. My batting average wasn’t there, a couple things weren’t there. I’m disappointed in myself.
