We figured Manny Machado was eventually going to be the Padres all-time home run leader when he signed the extension before the 2023 season and now it has happened. Machado’s 164th homer passed Nate Colbert for the franchise record.

Machado passed Adrian Gonzalez (161 HR) during his two-homer game last Friday.
If the Padres third baseman can keep performing well offensively, San Diego will be a hard team to beat—as has been the case in prior seasons when Machado is on his game.
