SAN FRANCISCO —
After he found out he was heading back to the big leagues, Luis Urias made his first call to Fernando Tatis Jr.
When Urias arrived at the team’s hotel here, he went to Tatis’ room, where the pair talked for several minutes.
It’s finally here.
The Padres’ top two position player prospects are in the middle of the infield for Monday night’s game against the Giants.
“We’ve been waiting a long time,” Tatis said. “It’s great to have him here. … It’s going to be fun.”
The 21-year-old Urias made it to the majors first, having been called up from Triple-A last August.
