Lineups: Rain in forecast for Mets-Padres

The sun poked through the clouds during batting practice, but rain remains in the forecast for tonight’s 7:40 p.m. start, so have your umbrellas hand if you’re venturing into Petco Park to see left-hander Drew Pomeranz face off with Mets right-hander Noah Syndergaard. Only two games have ever been rained out in the Petco Park era, while only six games have ever been delayed here.

Both rarities happened last year: The Padres waited out a rain delay on May 14 against the Nationals and had a rainout on July 19, snapping a string of 820 games (nine years, three months and 15 days) without a rainout.
