It’s not a surprise—well, it would’ve been if you would’ve told fans this in Spring Training—but Jurickson Profar has been named a starter for the National League in the 2024 MLB All-Star Game on July 16. Fernando Tatis Jr. (14 HR, .821 OPS) also was voted a starter, although he won’t be playing due to injury.
Luis Arraez wasn’t able to get the second base fan vote over Ketel Marte. Alex Bohm beat Manny Machado at third.
Profar enters tonight with a .311 AVG, .876 OPS and 151 OPS+ (51% above league average). He had the same batting average as Luis Arraez last night, which just shows how great he’s been (along with the ability to drive the ball).
