The hardware hasn’t stopped coming for Jake Cronenworth.
On Thursday morning, the 26-year old rookie was named the National League’s Rookie of the Year by Baseball Digest. He joined Mariners center fielder Kyle Lewis who won the award for the American League. Cronenworth won five of the seven first-place votes which is coincidentally the same amount that Lewis won.
Brewers reliever Devin Williams and Dodgers right-handed pitcher Tony Gonsolin were the other top challengers to Cronenworth, taking second and third, respectively. Williams received one first-place vote while Ke’Bryan Hayes, the Pirates third baseman, took fourth and received the final first-place vote.
