On November 21, 2023 Mike Shildt was introduced as Padres manager. He mentioned the team’s goal: to win the National League West. I’m not sure many fans were thinking that would actually come to fruition in Shildt’s first season as the manager but here we are. There’s a chance it will happen.
Let’s be clear though: the division hasn’t been won yet. They likely have to win out or only lose once in their final six games to win the West but it is in their control.
