Each day after polishing his opposite-field stroke and moving the ball all around the yard in pre-game batting practice, Franmil Reyes aims his swing at the territory beyond the outfield walls.
His home runs – the 6-foot-5, 275-pound slugger is not afraid to admit – are no happy accident.
“I practice my homers,” the 23-year-old Reyes said. “If you want to be good at something, you have to practice and practice and that’s what I do. I take a couple of swings to the other way and then I look for something to drive out of the park on a line drive.
