Homer Bailey of Cincinnati Reds to make first start Sunday since Tommy John surgery

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Homer Bailey will start Sunday against the San Diego Padres as he makes his return to the majors following Tommy John surgery.

The Reds activated Bailey from the disabled list Thursday following a rehab assignment and designated him as the Sunday starter on Friday.

"I don't think there's anything that's standing in the way," manager Bryan Price told reporters. "There's no impediments to how he feels physically. He feels like he's sharp. He's got all of his pitches available to him."

The right-handed Bailey had the Tommy John surgery on his pitching elbow in May 2015.
