Following up the Padres’ first no-hitter in franchise history was alway going to be a tough ask. They could have immediately lost the next game, or even went on to lose the series but dropping the next two contests.
However, the exact opposite happened.
Thanks to a stellar bullpen performance over the weekend, the Padres completed the sweep of the Rangers, topping it off with a 2-0 victory in Globe Life Park on Sunday afternoon.
Just two outs into the game, starter Adrian Morejon exited early with forearm/elbow strain. What followed was some outstanding performances by the Padres’ bullpen.
