PHOENIX -- San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Cain says he'll retire after his start at home on Saturday against the San Diego Padres.
"Saturday will be the last time I put on a Giants uniform," Cain told the San Francisco Chronicle. "I can't see myself going somewhere else to play for another team. This organization has meant so much to me, so much to my family. It's something that's dear to my heart."
Cain, 32, informed teammates of his decision in a closed meeting before Wednesday's game at Chase Field against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
