The executive director of the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus said Monday he is encouraged by the Padres' words in the aftermath of the national anthem incident before Saturday night's game against the Dodgers, but it will require actions by the team for the relationship with the LBGT community to be repaired.
As part of Pride Night at Petco Park, there were 100 members of the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus on the field for the national anthem, but instead of a prerecorded version of their anthem being played over the ballpark PA, a recording of the woman who sang it before Friday night's game was played.
