Former Padres a focus at FanFest

As expected, Major League Baseball’s All-Star FanFest will have a decidedly Padres flavor.

In addition to multiple appearances by All-Star spokespeople Trevor Hoffman and Dave Winfield, the five-day event will feature fan favorites Randy Jones, Nate Colbert, Steve Garvey, Tony Gwynn Jr., members of the 1984 and 1998 NL championship teams and three Hall-of-Famers with Padres roots: Rollie Fingers, Gaylord Perry and Ozzie Smith.

Others among the more than 40 former players to make appearances during the five-day event include 2016 Hall of Fame hopefuls Vladimir Guerrero, Tim Raines and one-time Padres Fred McGriff and Gary Sheffield.
