We knew Fernando Tatis Jr. was probably returning during this home stand but there weren’t many that expected him to be back today. Kevin Acee reported earlier this morning that today though is the day.

The 25-year-old last played June 21 and then went on the IL (right femoral stress reaction). We learned that he had been playing through a leg issue for months and yet he still managed to hit 14 home runs, score 50 times and earn an OPS+ 29% above league average.
