One name that I think the San Diego Padres and A.J. Preller should definitely be pursuing this offseason is outfielder David Peralta.
The left-handed slugger checks all the boxes for what the Padres need in the outfield, and luckily I was able to snag him in our Faux Winter Meetings.

The price for one year of Peralta was a middle reliever who is still pre-arbitration eligible in Trey Wingenter, and a bench utility man in Greg Garcia.
I certainly don’t love giving up the control of a pitcher like Wingenter, but I think it was worth the cost to get Peralta.
