The likelihood of fans being able to attend sporting events in the coming months depends on myriad factors surrounding the spread of and testing for COVID-19.
But there are multiple signs that it is as at least possible and perhaps probable, according to experts, who believe it can be achieved with relative safety.
Among the signals is a new order by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Thursday that sporting events with limited live audiences will be allowed to resume in the state in June.
Other states’ leaders have either not updated their guidelines for mass gatherings or have recently said it will at least be later in the summer or even the fall before fans are allowed at sporting events.
