Minor league free agent Jose Dominguez struck out five in two scoreless innings to earn his first save in Triple-A El Paso’s 4-3 win over Fresno on Sunday in the Pacific Coast League.
Dominguez walked one in an otherwise perfect outing, lowering his ERA to 2.38 in the hitter-friendly league. In seven games, he has fanned 13 and allowed three earned runs on six hits, seven walks and two hit batters in 11 1/3 innings. Opposing hitters are batting .167 off him.
Right-hander Daniel McCutchen (4-1, 5.67) allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks in five innings for the win for El Paso (10-12).
