Already 23 years old, right-hander Dinelson Lamet could move fast with a strong start at high Single-A Lake Elsinore. Consider Tuesday's effort a step in the right direction.
Lamet struck out three and allowed two hits – two solo homers – in five innings to earn his first win of the season as the Storm beat host High Desert, 3-2. He walked two in the game, his second in the Cal League after going 5-8 with a 2.99 ERA in 105 1/3 innings last year at low Single-A Fort Wayne. Lamet struck out 120 that year and has seven in his first nine innings with the Storm (5-1).
