SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Even with a bit more muscle mass on his 6-foot-5, 230-pound frame, Colin Rea isn’t quite sure the gun at Salt River Fields was exactly accurate Wednesday afternoon. Indeed, the 25-year-odl right-hander is throwing a bit harder this spring, but 97 mph – on a first-inning offering to Paul Goldschmidt – sounded a bit hot even to Rea.
“I definitely feel stronger,” Rea said after scattering a walk and two hits in an 8-4 Cactus League loss to the Diamondbacks. “I think it's just more of a confidence thing, too, just kind of letting it go and having the confidence that it's going to go where I needed it to go.
