The Padres (8-6) got back on track Friday night behind the bats of young, budding talent to secure a 3-0 win over the Diamondbacks (5-9) at Petco Park.
Fernando Tatis Jr., along with rookies Jake Cronenworth and Edward Olivares, all went yard in a fairly cut-and-dry shutout affair. Tatis’ was on the first pitch of the game and his team-leading fifth of the year. Tatis has also gotten on base in every game this season, tying his single-season best from a year ago.
Cronenworth continued his tear on both sides of the game with his second home run of the season.
