There’s a two-pronged strategy for Luis Urias to determine, fully and finally, if he can live up to the “Padres’ second baseman of the future” tag that’s chased him through the minor leagues.

Good advice on both fronts for Urias, a small package (5-9, 185) with wicked minor-league pop that has not translated consistently enough at the ultimate stop.
“I kind of felt it at the beginning, not because of the organization or whatever, I just wanted to do good,” Urias said. “I kind of felt pressure on that.
