When a Padres fan made a quip on my Twitter feed last week, suggesting after Bruce Bochy got a standing ovation in San Francisco that Giants fans won’t have anything else to cheer in the next several years, a swift rebuttal came from a longtime baseball man who worked for both the Padres and Giants.
Tim Flannery typed in advice that amounted to: Stay classy, San Diego.
“You had one good week,” Flannery told the Padres fan. “Stay humble, amigo.”
The fan replied to Flannery that, in his experience, attending games near Giants fans wasn’t much fun.
