Chris Paddack scratched from Sunday start; will pitch Wednesday at Yankee Stadium

TORONTO —

The Padres already were planning on making some moves. Fluid doesn’t begin to describe their starting rotation.

“This is just baseball for the Pads in 2019,” manager Andy Green said.

Then Chris Paddack woke up Saturday with a stiff neck, so things were altered some more.

The team’s rookie sensation was scratched from his Sunday start against the Blue Jays, and his next start was moved to Wednesday in New York at Yankee Stadium.

“This is nothing serious in our minds whatsoever,” manager Andy Green said. “He woke up today and felt like he could potentially pitch.
