With three pitchers in the big leagues — right-handers A.J. Griffin (Rangers) and Joe Musgrove (Astros) and lefty Steven Brault (Pirates) — the Grossmont High baseball program has reason to be proud.
Griffin, who played at USD, was drafted in 2010. Musgrove was a first-round pick in 2011. Brault, who played at Regis College, was an 11th-round selection in 2013.
Three lefties from Cathedral Catholic hope to follow Grossmont’s footprint.
Brady Aiken, Daniel Camarena and Stephen Gonsalves, the Dons’ top players the past few years, are all on a path to the big leagues.
Aiken, the first pick of the 2014 draft by the Astros, didn’t sign.
