66th All-Star Game: NL homers its way to victory

National League 3, American League 2

July 11, 1995, The Ballpark at Arlington, Arlington, Texas

Starting pitchers: Hideo Nomo, Dodgers; Randy Johnson, Mariners.

Managers: Felipe Alou, Expos; Buck Showalter, Yankees.

MVP: Jeff Conine, Marlins.

Highlight: AL pitchers held the NL hitless over the game’s first five innings and allowed but three hits the entire game. Unfortunately for the AL, all three hits were homers — an All-Star Game first for all a team’s hits being homers — by Craig Biggio in the sixth inning, Mike Piazza in the seven and Jeff Conine in the eighth.
