MVP: Terry Steinbach, A’s.

Highlight: Starters Gooden and Viola dueled for two innings before the AL broke through for a run in the third inning when Steinbach hit a solo homer off Gooden in the third inning. The AL made it 2-0 in the fourth when Steinbach hit a sacrifice fly to left field that scored Dave Winfield. The NL got a run back in the fourth when Vince Coleman scored on Mark Gubicza's wild pitch, but they managed just just two hits over the last four innings.
