National League 2, American League 1 (10)
July 12, 1966, Busch Memorial Stadium, St. Louis
Starting pitchers: Denny McClain, Tigers; Sandy Koufax, Dodgers.
Managers: Sam Mele, Twins; Walter Alston, Dodgers.
MVP: Brooks Robinson, Orioles.
Highlight: The Dodgers’ Maury Wills provided a walk-off single in the 10th after Tim McCarver’s single and Ron Hunt’s sacrifice bunt. Robinson tripled in the second and scored the AL’s only run on a wild pitch. The NL made it 1-1 in the fourth on Ron Santo’s RBI single. Robinson played the entire game at third base and had half of his team’s six hits, making him the rare MVP from a losing team.
