The bottom line is Robert Suarez was one of the best relievers in the league this season. He started off the year with a 0.40 ERA through his first 21 appearances and reached his first MLB All-Star Game. Suarez didn’t allow a run in 80% of his regular season appearances, which is more impressive when you consider he was a one-pitch reliever (fastball) most of the time.
After some bumpy outings in September, Suarez didn’t allow a single run in his three postseason appearances, closing out their Wild Card Series win over the Braves at Petco Park.
