Austin Adams, a Tamba Bay native, played his prep baseball at Zephryhills High School before going on to play at nearby South Florida University.
After his junior year in 2012, Adams was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the eighth round of the that year’s MLB draft.
His professional career began with the Orem Owlz in the Rookie Advanced-level Pioneer League. He moved up to the Class A Burlington Bees of the Midwest League in 2013 and then went on to the Class A Advanced Inland Empire 66ers on the California League in 2014.
After stints with the Class AA Arkansas Travelers, Class AAA Salt Lake Bees in 2015, Adams was added to the Angels’ 40-man roster following the 2016 season.
