There were a lot of exciting moments in the Spurs 131-119 season-opening victory against the Grizzles, but perhaps the one for the top of the highlight reel was a steal-and-dunk from Lonnie Walker IV in the third quarter. After swiping a handoff pass from Jonas Valanciunas to Greyson Allen, Walker sprinting up the court and skied above the rim for the monstrous dunk.
Overall, Walker scored 16 points in the season opener, was engaged on defense all night, and was one of seven players in double figures in an all-around team win. He won’t have to make highlight reel plays like this to be effective every night, but the more complete games he contributes, the better the Spurs will be.
