The NBA has been releasing individual highlight reels throughout the offseason, precious morsels to whet our appetites for the upcoming season.
Kawhi Leonard got the treatment on Monday, and as you’d expect for the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, it’s defense rather than offense that takes center stage. Particularly his knack for putting those long arms and gigantic hands to good use picking pockets, a skill he used to lead the league in NBA last year with 2.3 steals per game.
Taking those thefts the other way for an easy bucket has become his signature play, which is as good an indication as any of what a unique player Leonard is.
