The Spurs used the 49th pick of the 1991 NBA Draft to nab guard Greg Sutton. I am unsure of what happened to the Spurs first round pick, but since they had two second round picks the previous season, I assume there was a draft swap embedded in a trade scenario of sorts. Sutton played his rookie season with the Spurs, averaging 3.7 points per game coming off the bench for nine minutes a night. As he was playing point guard behind Avery Johnson and Rod Strickland, his time with the Silver & Black was limited.
