“Jimmer Mania” is no more in San Antonio.
The Spurs are set to make veteran shooting guard Jimmer Fredette one of their first cuts of training camp, the Express-News has confirmed through NBA sources.
The team will eat $507,000 in guaranteed money to let loose Fredette, who appeared in only three of the Spurs’ five preseason games and made 2 of 10 field goal tries.
The Spurs must make four more cuts to trim their roster to the league-mandated 15 by Monday’s deadline. Yahoo! Sports was the first to report Fredette’s impending dismissal.
