Spurs triumph at new-look AT&T Center

Kawhi Leonard led all scorers with 21 points and LaMarcus Aldridge added nine in his first game at the refurbished AT&T Center, a 96-92 victory over Detroit.

The Spurs romped over the first three quarters, climbing out of an early deficit to lead by as many as 24 points, before Detroit made a game of it against their deep reserves and camp invites. Jonathon Simmons made a free throw with four seconds left to hold the Pistons off and secure the Spurs’ first preseason victory after three straight losses.

“It’s good,” said reserve forward David West, who scored eight points and blocked three shots.
