Spurs to face Davis, Pelicans without Duncan

SAN ANTONIO – Tim Duncan will miss his fifth-straight game with a sore right knee when the Spurs host the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night, the club announced Tuesday afternoon.

Led by Anthony Davis’ 20-point, 18-rebound effort, the Pelicans won this season’s first meeting with the Spurs, 104-90, on Nov. 20 in New Orleans behind center Anthony Davis’ 20 points and 18 rebounds.

Davis could be poised for another big game against the Spurs, especially with their leading shot blocker in street clothes. With Duncan sidelined, the Spurs have given up 52 points or more in the paint in three of their last four games, including 54 in the 107-92 win over Orlando on Monday night.
