SAN ANTONIO – Taking a flyer on a long-range shooter, the Spurs have signed Argentine undrafted free agent forward Patricio Garino, his agent confirmed Friday via Twitter.
Garino’s deal is reportedly partially guaranteed. The George Washington University alumnus had a summer league stint with the Orlando Magic and is a member of Argentina’s Olympic team.
The 6-foot-6, 211-pound swingman is a native of Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires. He attended high school at Montverde Academy in Florida.
In 129 games for GWU, Garino averaged 12.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Last season, he averaged 14.
