By Wednesday morning, most of the Spurs had seen the NBA officiating report detailing all the referees had gotten wrong in the final moments of their 98-97 Game 2 loss to Oklahoma City.
Some had not bothered.
Tim Duncan was not interested in commenting at all.
“You want my opinion on officiating?” a clearly amused Duncan said after Wednesday’s practice. “Wow. Trying to get me fined?”
There was another reason for Duncan to remain mum on the refs that went beyond his pocketbook: They weren’t the difference in the Spurs’ defeat.
Six of the eight violations the league says officials missed during the final two minutes fell the Spurs’ favor.
