Tim Duncan wasn’t the only recently retired Spurs great to have his number honored by the club. In a low-key ceremony held without fanfare, the Spurs retired Matt Bonner’s iconic No. 15 after Thursday’s blowout victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.
Well, sort of.
Hanging in Bonner’s old locker stall when the dressing room opened to reporters: A plaid shirt — presumably out of the Bonner collection — with the number stitched to the back and “Bonner” scrawled across the back on a strip of masking tape.
